Senior Systems Engineer

Position Summary

The Systems Engineer reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and mission analyses for customer systems

Location

Baltimore, Maryland

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyses at all levels of system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts
  • Provide highly innovative solutions to unusually complex technical problems
  • Develop advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product
  • Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs
  • Act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Degree in the field of engineering, physics, or computer science. Masters is preferred
  • 10 years of technical leadership experience in scientific research and development
  • Extensive Systems Engineering experience
  • DOD Top Secret
  • Active SBI/SCI with CT poly
  • Thorough understanding of RF theory and signal processing
  • Vendor relations and negotiation skills and experience

Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Software Engineer reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for developing developing embedded command and control software architectures for advanced sensor payloads.

Location

Baltimore, Maryland

Responsibilities

  • Work with Systems Engineers to decompose flow-down software requirements
  • Define system and subsystem software architectures
  • Identify risks and risk mitigation approaches
  • Developing embedded software to command and control flight payloads
  • Developing test software to verify performance requirements of deliverable systems
  • Implementing real-time algorithms executed on sensor payloads
  • Create and execute software test plans
  • Supporting integration and test activities at sub-system and system levels
  • Support Software Configuration Control Boards and Engineering Review Boards
  • Participate in Software Design Reviews

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related discipline with 15 years experience (13 years experience with a Masters Degree)
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • Experience in embedded/multi-threaded application development
  • Experience with VxWorks, C, C++, Python, Java, TCL/Tk
  • Experience debugging kernel software interfaces
  • Knowledge of VxWorks
  • Linux shell scripting
  • Top Secret / SCI clearance

Senior RF Test Engineer

Position Summary

The RF Test Engineer reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for creating and executing test plans for component, subsystem, and system level products

Location

Baltimore, Maryland

Responsibilities

  • Writing test plans, test procedures, and test reports to verify product requirements
  • Testing RF amplifiers, mixers, filters, oscillators, receivers, transmitters, and antennas
  • Making recommendations to design engineers to improve processes, producibility, testability, and reliability
  • Specifying requirements of automated test equipment racks for production hardware verification
  • Designing custom test equipment for integration and test
  • Developing automated test software to control instrumentation, emulate command and control, and monitor telemetry
  • Conducting design reviews
  • Participating in Engineering Review Boards
  • Leading root-cause investigations of test failures

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical degree required (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in RF measurement techniques
  • Extensive experience with RF test equipment including signal generators, power meters, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, and noise sources
  • Understanding of RF measurements including noise figure, EIRP, third-order intercept, phase noise, and non-linear distortions
  • Experience with TCL, LabView, C++, and Python
  • Experience with environmental testing including thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, acoustics, and vibration
  • DoD Top Secret Clearance (Active SBI/SCI with CT polygraph preferred)
